From Little Dragon to Jessie Ware, Sampha to Ezra Koenig – SBTRKT has sought out and collaborated with some of the most solid up and coming voices. Well, let’s not break with tradition. Introducing: Denai Moore. Having first heard her voice on SBTRKT’s 2014 Wonder Where We Land I was immediately smitten. Second to maybe the albums’ single New Dorp, New York – Moore’s track, The Light was a standout favorite for me.
Back in November, the 20 year old London-based singer released the title track and first single to her upcoming EP “I Swore”. A heart-wrenching ballad with stripped down instrumentation consisting of a piano and some light-handed synth, drum and production. The perfect vehicle for her voice – deep soul with a vocal timbre reminiscent of Sampha.
Then, just this past February, she dropped another single – this time as the precursor her first full-length album “Elsewhere” – dropping in April via Because Music.
