Tessa Barton. Lead singer of Luna Lune
I met Luna Lune in their home in Holladay, Utah, as they rehearsed for their 2013 debut album release, Walk With Me. The three siblings (Tessa, Chas, and Luke Barton) along with the back bone of the music, drummer Tony Farley, appear calm and collected against the back drop of their bank of windows that showcased the clear night sky. Was I imagining the moon there filtering through and casting a glow? Or was it their melodies that made it appear in my memory.
There is one member of the band missing, but omnipresent, Sophie Barton. Sophie tragically and unexpectedly passed away in 2010 . They’re singing in tribute to her for this album release party. She is everywhere in their music, voices, and in the room.
A year has passed since their release, and Luna Lune still has much to share with Utah and the rest of the world. Listen to these tracks:
Each band member is more than a musician, as they are all incredible artists in their fields of study. Tessa graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Photography. Her portfolio of work is just as as astoundingly beautiful as her music. Chas has a degree in Advertising, and is often the mind behind all of their incredible marketing material.
Even though they have been busy this past year performing their first album, and finishing school, they have never stopped writing. Their live show has completely changed from the Walk With Me album as their music has continued to evolve. They are currently trying to settle on how, who, and where to record their new EP. But fans are eager and ready.
