Mondays are Icon days- as Jane and I always say.
This Monday, like every other Monday, Jane and I head out to explore Salt Lake and tour beautiful homes built by talented people. She takes her camera, and I take my laptop, and we plan our day around the city. Today we brought the lovely Amber Sky along for the field trip. (Amber, as you may well know, is our Art Editor) and we convince her to do a yoga class with us and come play around the city.
We meet with the Icon family and chat about their upcoming plans and projects, and then we drive to Este Pizza and catch up over some Ninja Turtle Pizza slices. They’re made with jalapeño sauce. The weird nostalgia of it all makes sense. It’s good to be around old friends again. It’s good to eat pizza. It starts to rain, and it’s the good kind of rain. The kind that is warm, and lasts for only 8 minutes.
In downtown Salt Lake, there is an alley behind Este that is a haven for street artists. Hidden from view, it’s a colorful corner of the earth and of course, Jane convinces us to take some pictures. It’s rare for us to ever highlight what’s happening behind the scenes here… but Jane insists.
