Longtime friends hailing from Heber City, Utah: Thomas Brunson, Jeff Vanderlinden, Zaz McDonald and Steven Siggard formed Holy Water Buffalo in 2009. Their combination of jangly guitar, vocal harmony, deep bass, melodic organ and dynamic drumming create contemporary original music with a 60’s/70’s throwback back sound.
In December of 2010, Holy Water Buffalo released their self-titled debut album. It was recorded and engineered internally with the help of grammy-nominated piano player Richard Souther, and was mixed at The Mastering Lab. Influenced by: The Beatles, Neil Young, The Guess Who, Ryan Adams, The Strokes… the album blends old and new. In March 2013 the band recorded two new singles at Ribgy Road Studio, and filmed a gorgeous new music video for “Better to Remain” along the way.
HWB has been featured on: NPR’s “Radio West”, channel 2 and 13 news, PCTV, Salt Lake independent radio KRCL, RadioBoise, WKPC, along with numerous print and digital interviews and reviews. Multiple tours have included: Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and California, sharing the stage with such acts as: Cold War Kids, One Republic, Heartless Bastards, Mother Hips and Slightly Stoopid. Tamara Conniff wrote in an article featured in The Huffington Post, “they sound like the Kings of Leon should sound.”
Holy Water Buffalo is planning to tour nationally and internationally in the coming months. Look for them wherever good music is heard.
