One of my friends says that every time she drives past a food truck, her husband insists they stop (whether he was hungry or not). The nomadic nature means that we never know when we’ll come across our favorite truck, and it inspires the same thrill as finding a forgotten childhood toy in our mom’s basement.
So, the warm weather is finally here, and food trucks are starting to speckle the Salt Lake streets. If you see one of these rolling down the street, be sure to stop by. You will be glad that you did. These are some of our favorites:
1. Waffle Love: Liege waffles originated in Belgium, but this Provo-born waffle haven brings this classic breakfast to the people on the streets of Utah. They use genuine Belgian Pearl Sugar, for the perfect caramelized and crispy crunch on the outside and a soft and sweet inside. Waffle Love? More like waffle perfection.
2. Sweet Burrito: If you ever wanted to try things like tator-tots, or french fries in your burritos, then this is the place to go. They take burritos to a whole new level. Fat with deliciousness.
3. Chow Truck. This truck kind of has everything. It’s Haute Asian Cuisine with things like: Panko coated tofu salad, Crispy tofu salad, Spicy Beef Tacos, and Chicago Red Hot Dogs. Make sure to taste their Elk Slider!
4. Lewis Bros.: American classics served up with things Kimchi Fries. These brothers from California delight.
